Author/poet Anna Casamento Arrigo’s poetry collection, ‘It’s Okay!,’ pulsates with soulful musings. Each and every poem savored along my reading journey is a vivid work of art. Every poem beckons the reader to probe its literary depth with an open mind, heart, and soul in order to extract the pulp of life’s triumphs and travails—hers; many of which, strike a chord.

For instance, “Life’s Mural” – Rise/ Rise/ Inhale/ Exhale/ Your new day/ Calls

She spares not the rod for honesty in several poems which pay homage to her mother and father. Nor those which expose everyday ills we are bystanders to:

“Roads” - A woman sitting/ Her back hunched over/ With the cares of years gone/ Too quickly by/ Her matted, unwashed/ Under the ill-fitting wool hat/ The coat she wears/ Too small to cover her shivering body

Another noteworthy poem, “Today Walk Tomorrow Climb A Tree,” a powerful vignette, is a testament to Anna’s resolve and resilience to overcome the effects of a stroke. This poem, like several others, offers encouragement and inspiration for anyone facing challenges.
