Crime fiction author Christa Nardi’s ‘Jealousy, Jitterbug & Murder’ has its star amateur sleuth, Stacie Maroni, off on the wrong foot when she becomes the victim of a botched kidnapping. In harm’s way, Stacie finds herself in more danger at her workplace and wherever she goes—all on account of a coworker who slightly resembles her, turning up dead.

From start to finish, suspicious characters inveigle their way into the plot. Realistic details pertaining to police investigations are forthcoming. Stacie’s relationship with Detective Michael O’Hare, and her friendship with the girls at Foster’s Insurance Group, ground the story. I have a soft spot for Stacie’s dog, Jasper.

The author did a fine job misleading me to convict the wrong character as I turned the pages to discover whodunit and why. I thoroughly enjoyed this baffling mystery with had more than its fair share of plausible murder suspects.
