Flickering with Imagination

A story collection crackling with campfire tales and other stories flickers with imagination fanned by its storytellers: Erika M. Szabo, David W. Thompson, and R.A. “Doc” Correa.

Each specific campfire tale sparks the reader’s interest through chilling storytelling more reliant on writing expertise rather than gratuitous gore and cheap shots. From my perspective, the authors bring their own distinct style to the forefront: Szabo’s vivid imagery; Thompson’s infusion of lore and legend; Correa’s precise details pertaining to war and combat.

While I thoroughly enjoyed each story, I’m citing my favorites from each writer:
