‘Dark Society’ (Book1), an erotic thriller with psychic suspense by author J Craig Rice, is electric! No pun intended: protagonist Jack Cross’s career path is that of an electrician.
As the story unfolds, parameters of the misogynistic Dark Society have disturbing implications for Jack and his new love interest, Jamie Wilkinson, a member valued for her telepathic and empathic abilities. Jack’s eidetic memory is also of interest to their agenda.
The author is a credible storyteller. He realistically depicts Jack’s grim financial situation and the natural progression of his start-up relationship with Jamie, replete with graphic details. There are laugh-out-loud moments. There are elements of danger which escalate and reach a crescendo in the epilogue, gearing up the reader to delve into Book 2.
A most worthwhile read.
