sequel, ‘The Turnaround Two: Doubleback,’ his sharp bite tears into the warped mentality targeting foreigners, people of color, the LGBTQIA population, and anyone else who isn’t white, straight, and Christian. Whether on old Earth or Earth Fourteen, Kathy (formerly Joel), Joel (formerly Kathy), and Myrna find themselves in the crosshairs to finish off Linda Rawlins, one of the antagonists of the Center and its splinter hate groups espousing bigoted ideology.
Well-written with sensitivity and sincerity regarding Kathy and Joel’s gender bending, the sequel is also fraught with danger, enhanced technology, and taking liberties to mete out justice for as long as it will last.
Frankel’s knack for creating characters with a moral conscience and nailing societal imperfections rocks throughout ‘The Turnaround Two: Doubleback,’ a Sci-Fi novel with bite.
