Author Trisha J. Kelly’s ‘Little Greenwood Case, her first Rosewater Mystery Book, is an absorbing read. Sisters, Daisy and Emma Pemberton, newcomers moving into a dilapidated cottage after the so-called tragic death of their parents, become acclimated to the small town of Rosewater and the residents who look out for their well-being.

At first, financially strapped, Daily relies on earning income from plying her hairdressing skills about town, and becomes elderly Dorothy Morrison’s confidante. When Dorothy’s subsequent death is ruled an accident, Daisy’s grounded suspicions open up a can of worms.

More than a murder mystery, the reader tags along to follow Daisy’s lead as she questions whether or not her parents are actually dead, what they were up to, and why some of the townsfolk have provided much needed home repairs at a reduced cost.

‘Little Greenwood Case’ has a little of this and that going for it: a budding romance, mysterious characters, pleasant surprises, and an intriguing subplot yet to be solved. A Cozy mystery you’ll thoroughly enjoy while savoring a cup of tea.
