J.S. Frankel’s “Oduru: the Dance of Death” is not your typical zombie shuffle of the living dead. A story of survival and cooperation among a small group of strangers, readers easily become attached to Carl, Amanda, Gen, Plover, the Rodriguez triplets, and Norm as they carry out their mission to avenge the loss of loved ones and make the world safe for “one more turn of the sun”.
Up against hordes of the infected undead and their leader, Voortman—they’re hard-pressed to combat opposition vis a vis a myopic, greedy, selfish mayor with a bunker mentality. There are also folks who refuse to believe in imminent danger and pay the price by becoming fresh meat.
While the story doesn’t end on a note of koombaya, there is cautious optimism in battling a much stronger, mutated outbreak of zombies by forming an alliance with a sophisticated enemy—the vamps for the common good.
I highly recommend this absorbing page-turner which dances with all the right moves.

Apparently, JS Frankel has mastered the art of this kind of cataclysmic storytelling. And I probably would find it a page burner if I ever started reading his work.
