From the very first page of the sequel to ‘Oduru: the Dance of Death’, author J.S. Frankel lures the reader into a story where the stakes are high—no pun intended. These vamps, new on the evolutionary scale, become an unfair target of discrimination from humans, despite collaboration in killing off the undead zombies who continue to menace the safety of their communities.

Human nature being what it is:

Urban riots between the species ensue. Hemadrol drug running is rampant, costing lives of both species. Carl Silverman finds himself at odds with humans who no longer trust him because his girlfriend, Miranda, is a vamp.

Not only does Carl struggle with finding a place to call home, but he is determined to find out what really went down in a skirmish battling the undead which cost the lives of both species. His risky ventures trekking back and forth to the vamp and human sides of town result in eye-opening discoveries.

The author effectively depicts a world gone mad when a segment of the human population is out for blood, blaming vamps for every societal ill while government and law enforcement officials turn a blind eye.

The author’s engaging story has vamped-up action, while exposing glaring social injustices which hit home no matter where you live.
