A rather short description for a review. Seems like a lot of people are writing about this kind of thing. I find that my dreams, even my daydreams, are great sources of stories, both good and bad. As a logical person, I tend to think that dreaming is a normal process for most people and the result of the brain sorting through thoughts and experiences, primarily to decide which ones require being put into long-term memory or not.

Of course, shock or near-death experiences generally drive thoughts into long-term memory easily because of the intensity of the situation. Like the brain going unconscious to protect itself after head trauma, dreams become a way that the mind overcomes major trauma. But a person's attitude or perspective has a lot to do with how they interpret these dreamy states between consciousness and unconsciousness. Often making them spiritual or religious. "I had a vision," etc.
