Psychological Thriller: Well-Crafted and Cunning
My 5-Star review in entirety published at Amazon for Robert Crawford's mind-blowing psychological thriller:
Robert Crawford’s psychological thriller, ‘The River Never Speaks,’ is one of those rare mind-blowing novels to float down the river every now and then. Like the strong female protagonist, Meghan McNamara, who’s abducted and held captive in the dark basement of a remote cabin in the wilderness of Wisconsin, the reader is held captive inside the darkness of this twisted story.
Like, Meghan, I had a strong hunch as to whom the Fox River Killer might be, but trust me—all bets are off, up until the bitter end. And, I still can’t wrap my mind around what is revealed.
Outstanding story aside, the author infuses the fictitious darkness with stark reality by inserting snippets here and there about bona fide serial killers who hailed from Wisconsin.
The words flowing on every page hold the reader in their grip:
“The woods are lovely, dark and deep, the poet said. Two out of three ain’t bad, Bobby, Meghan thought as she crashed through the woods that were anything but lovely.”
I highly recommend this well-crafted and cunning psychological thriller for its first-rate, plausible fiction.
