My latest, favorite J.S. Frankel adventure, I lapped up the trials and tribulations of a cat named Sam and a rat named Holly. Two adolescent “hoomans,” unfamiliar to each other, have the misfortune of being turned by Leena, a witch in a drunken stupor looking for her “familiar”. With only fourteen days to find Leena to try and convince her to change them back, Sam and Holly team up, living by their wits in this formidable quest.

The author has penned a harrowing, unpredictable romp straddling the evils and power plays in a vicious world perpetrated by humans motivated by monetary greed, and animals vying for territorial dominance.

Laced with humor and tender moments, Sam and Holly make the best of circumstances on four legs instead of two. Getting their licks in, they truly discover what is important in life.

I highly recommend this well-written, heartwarming, and engaging Teen & Yong Adult shifter fiction.
