Michelle Ann Hollstein’s ‘The Case of the Haunted Address’ is a read-worthy Halloween treat. While Aggie, Betty, and Roger celebrate Halloween at their favorite bar, a handsome stranger dressed as a vampire, hands Betty three tickets for free admission to a haunted house in the desert of Joshua Tree.

Due to the never-ending line to gain entrance, the three have a change of heart. Betty and Roger coax Aggie into driving to the handwritten address written on the back of one ticket.

Misadventure, spooky encounters, and revelations ensue. The winning combination of mystery, eeriness, and humor make this short a reader’s delight.
