How my day began with a down and ended on the upside. This morning I woke up feeling rather depressed. I'm not sure why...it might have been the let down after entering the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards and the preparations before-hand, which seemed to take forever. It might have been a downward fluctuation in my mood, too. Sometimes, my medications don't always work as well as they should. So basically, the a.m. sucked. The fact I have had headaches because I need a new prescription for a my glasses probably didn't help.
Come the afternoon, I was delighted when a friend of mine gave me some very nice and rewarding feedback on my novel. We must have talked about it for almost a half hour. The copy she had read was a proof of the second revision, which I given to her free as it was not error-free. I enjoy talking to people about Baker's Dozen: a Fantasy Novel but usually they listened politely for a few minutes then their eyes begin to glaze over. So you can see how this would put me in a more positive frame of mind. She even had questions about purchasing the third revision and I told her it was available at Author's Den Bookstore. I was delighted when she told me she was going to buy a copy of my novel.
