How I "waste" my time... 3/26/2011 5:37:59 PM
What I do with my computer when I SHOULD(!) be dictating my sequel. Well, I play RPGs and sports simulations.
I'm a big fan of both Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition. I play NHL09 and MLB Front Office Manager 2008 (hey! it was CHEAP!), too.
I enjoy immersing myself into the two above RPGs' worlds, although I find Oblivion to often be too easy...I guess my younger son was right: Morrowind was a better game (I have IT, too!). Dragon Age has a very LOTR "feel" to it: Grey Wardens standing in for Tolkien's Rangers so I think I like the story better...darker and, as I mentioned last time, dark fantasy is what I prefer. I think, also, that the latter game is far, far wider in scope.
I like the sports games because it gives me a feeling of control. It's great to pick lines that will never exist in the real NHL and kick butt! Plus, unlike EA Sports earlier forays, you have to work around the Salary Cap. Baseball has always been a favourite computer simulation of mine (as far back as the Commodore 64!) because there is really no time-element that forces you to hurry and figure out a strategy.
My next purchase is FIFA10...then I think I better hold off on the gaming. There is that darn sequel to think of, you know...
