Someone Tell Kerry To Shut Up! 11/1/2006 3:56:56 AM
Don't get me wrong, I voted for Kerry. But he's made me mad as hell with fumbling inability to communicate effectively, and his near obsessive campaigning! John Kerry is one step above, the facist Bush, in his mastery of effective communication. This is the man that confounded us all with his mangled, tortured explanation for voting for the War in Iraq: "I voted for it, after I voted against it." Or some such nonsense (I'm still incapable of remember his twisted eplanation, as muddled as it was). He was never able to recover from that miscommunicaiton and lost the presidency.
I've always found his speaking style boring. It's the style you develop after spending your life in Washington. A kind of mindless droll that hits all the salient points, but without enthusiasm or real emotional connection to people.
And have you ever seen a politician campaign as long and often as Kerry? Get off the stage buster! Your 15 minutes are over!
What, in God's good name is he doing attmpting this:
In his remarks in California on Monday, Mr. Kerry said: “You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
Mr. Kerry said that he botched a joke that his aides said had been prepared as follows: “Do you know where you end up if you don’t study, if you aren’t smart, if you’re intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush.”
SO he must have been tired, and decided to mentally edit the joke. Why not? He's been criss-crossing the country since the day after the last election trying to get elected again. Like anyone would want this poor poster child for the 'we do lose a lot' Democratic Party.
Why not leave the jokes to someone less sanguine than Kerry? He's no comedian, after all. I've never seen a more humorless individual, myself.
Now, I hate Bush---anyone that has read this blog knows that!
But I'm sick of Kerry. In the last week of a vitally important election, his comments have given (unfair-- but what's new) fodder to the Republican Orwell machine. These guys know how to twist and distort language, they are masters at it! Karl Rove, the Hermann Goerbells of American Politics, is salivating at this Kerry faux pas.
Look at what Bushes' brain told him to say about it:
“The senator’s suggestion that the men and women of our military are somehow uneducated is insulting, and it is shameful,” Bush said. “The members of the United States military are plenty smart and they are plenty brave, and the senator from Massachusetts owes them an apology.”
And Bush is dumb! Dumb! Dumb!
To lend credence to this, in an interview recently his father was asked how hard it was to hear compaints against his son W. He seemed to take it all in stride, except for the charge that his son 'was somehow not very smart.' Bush senior hates it when you question his boy's IQ. Wonder why?
Because deep down the truth hurts. It stings when you see your own flesh and blood turn his back on you, when seeking advice. How stupid can you be not to ask your father about a major war in which he led the first attack?
But back to Kerry who said:
"This policy is broken, and this president and his administration didn't do their homework. They didn't study what would happen in Iraq. They didn't study and listen to the people who were the experts and would have told them. And they know that's what I was talking about yesterday. I'm not going to be lectured by a White House or by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, who's taking a day off from mimicking and attacking Michael J. Fox, who's now going to try to attack me and lie about me and distort me. No way. It disgusts me that a bunch of these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country, are willing to lie about those who did. It's over".
Someone needs to tell Kerry it's over too. He will not be anyone's nominee again. His chance at power has passed. And no amount of perpetual campaigning will change that. The sooner he takes his lackluster personality back to the Senate floor, or gently rests it in his Beacon Hill Brownstone, where it belongs, the better.
