A Strange Message: A Portent Of Tommorow? 12/18/2004 9:24:10 AM
A most strange e-mail entered my inbox which made me ponder, and then ponder again. From whom did it come, and why was I so enthralled by it?
Here is the bizzare e-mail I just recieved from a complete stranger:
My friend in words,
In early 2005, a new global, spiritual awakening will begin. You will read about it, see signs of it everywhere. The issues of today will be set aside and a new world vision will come into focus. It is the time you knew was coming. The moment you have waited for:
It is a time to share your thoughts with others...to share your writings. New opportunities will arise. Be mindful and watch for them. The signs may be subtle. But observe them. It will be a time of risks and adventure. But happiness lies not in what you might imagine the future to be, but in the connections you make as you step forth to share your own thoughts with others through your writings.
We are strangers, but I share this vision with you, for that is how realities begin, and you are among those who have something to share with the world.
Many good wishes to you for a joyful New Year.

I was tempted to write this mystic back, in spite of his caveat, because when I read this, it made me think on it.
Then I thought on it again. For some reason I wondered if this fellow knew me, or more likely, since it is not personalised, was he sending this to writers around the world whom he didn't know personally, simply because they were writers?
But why?
It's true, I have long felt that a major shift in human consciousness is coming. A sort of Guirdjeffian growth in mans stature in the universe. But still, what possible part could I play? Other than as a mere Worker Bee, attempting daily to raise my own limited consciousness in my small personal universe.
Who is this guy?
I suppose he has a message of hope in here somewhere. A kind of 'drop' in the ocean of meaningless messages we all receive in our e-mail every day; a drop of inspiration and quizzical insertion.
Did I find it interesting because it appeals to my vanity as a writer? Do I harbor hidden thoughts of major contributions to my fellow man, diatribes of deep portent that will rescue our failing planet and its billions?
Of course I do.
Deep down every writer harbors such nonsense. Why else write, but to affect our fellows and hope we construct changes in their lives?
Whatever Khalu's intentions in sending this note were, I'll probably never know; nontheless,I have found it a delightful excursion and, perhaps, even a prescient message from the future. After all he IS one who "sees"---humbly so, it is noted.
Yet, I WILL look for the signs. I WILL try and remain open to the visage of growth and change. I WILL stay active in my writing and, who knows?---this next year may truly come to be important to us all, a year when there is a marked increase in our commune with The Secret Creator Within( and Without), His presence more available, more substantial than during any previous year!
