A Dog Dies. WARNING...awfully sad. 12/26/2005 4:54:39 PM
Last week, my hubby and I went out. We drove down a busy street, where we saw a confused and frightened dog running in the center of the street on the yellow lines. It was pitch black but we could see the dog because of our headlights. We slowed down, keeping the sweety in our sights, I hoping to jump out of the car and grabbing her. But the dog turned onto oncoming traffic. The dog got hit. We pulled over. We were the only ones who did, and managed to get across the street. It wasn't easy. We searched for the dog, and found her at about the same time her family did. The dog was a chocolate lab, maybe 11 months old. Her family was a young teenage girl and her Mom. We helped them get the lab in their car and told them of an emergency vet that was nearby that was open 24hrs a day. They took the lab to emergency but we discovered later, when we called, that the lab didn't make it. She was a much loved family member. We could tell.
Our hearts go out to the family, and our prayers are with them.
