Where Is My Power? 11/6/2014 8:36:21 AM
Seeing problems in society that affect me and shifting to solutions thinking I realized increasingly that I am the power over my world. Now that you heard the news about being the power over your world, you might be puzzled at what you see all around you. You might ask, “Where is my power?” This is a natural question if you see yourself as a victim – a victim of circumstances. You might see yourself as powerless on your job – after all, you don’t make the rules, do you? You might feel you are subject to the tyranny of gangs or the socio-political structure. Perhaps you think you are the victim of disease or stuck in a particular financial situation. For either limitation you could relate to, if it is part of your experience, it is unlikely that you feel like a happy camper. Surely such a situation does not help you feel like you are the power over it. Just so you are keenly aware of it, things in your life that make you feel so vulnerable to someone or something result from personal programming to limitations, vulnerability, powerlessness and lower vibrations. Limitation programming has been part of our lives throughout society – even the world society. It even influences the actions of the so-called powerful – making a perfect setup to feel justified to use force, intimidation, laws and policies and discrimination to maintain their power.
I can talk about this because I came face-to-face with negative or limitation programming that was behind all sorts of problems I faced. For years I had devoted my energies to “get back my power”. So the news that I am the power over my world was something I welcomed. I was more than surprised to find out how easy it was to get back my power. On reading David Hawkins' book (2014 publication), integrating it with the works of quantum scientists, Neville, Bruce Lipton and Joe Dispenza I found consciousness within me is the power over my world. As it sank in that consciousness is the power and I practiced rearranging the contents of my consciousness, I saw how I caused change in my world.
At first I thought it was presumptuous to claim being the power over my world, but I had moved far enough along in my growth to see this was true. Earlier I actually felt guilty about thinking this way – mainly because I was still buying into limitations set forth by social institutions. But now I consistently dismiss negative programming and negative beliefs – but not by working on them but by practicing solutions thinking. I ask certain questions and introduce new information to frame my thinking, changing the direction of my attention. Where I had been focused in the lower vibrations – the place problems originate – I shift to the higher vibrations where solutions abound. I help individuals I coach make the same kind of shift in focus.
I looked at things I called “problems” linking them to negative programming and negative beliefs and applied “solutions”. Devoting my attention solely to solutions I noticed the negative beliefs that supported the problems simultaneously dissolved. As the problems dissolved, these beliefs and corresponding programming became meaningless. So delighted to see what seemed to be so automatic happen again and again, I realized the only thing I had to “work on” was the solution.
Becoming increasingly adept in solutions thinking, I incorporated it into my coaching practice and walked my clients through to their solutions. Part of the power of consciousness is being aware of always having access to infinite solutions for any problem. Among things I do as I coach is helping individuals shift from working on “problems” to activating solutions, using everyday situations for practice. The objective is to help the person become conscious of his or her power – the power of consciousness within his or her being.
