Situations As Vehicles 11/15/2014 2:00:18 PM
Working from the perspective of elevated emotions I easily shifted to a place of power. No longer did I have to dwell in problems. Instead I noticed I could view so-called problem situations as vehicles while giving applying new information tempered by my expression of elevated emotions. Seeing situations as vehicles, I focused attention on the emotions I generated to sustain and support the situations. Admittedly, my custom had been to look at situations as problems or outcomes. If it was a problem, I wanted somebody to solve it. I complained about it and felt bad or upset. If the situation was an outcome I desired, I wanted more of it. I felt wonderful about it and gave it my praise or accolades. But I noticed my feelings went up and down – in higher vibrations and lower vibrations when I tried to deal with outcomes. In other words, when my focus was on the situation as something I wanted or did not want, my emotions were volatile.
Something very interesting happened when I took my attention off the meaning of the situation and outcomes I preferred. When I decided to give no concern to outcomes or try to reach goals, I freed myself from the tyranny of desires. I recall feeling so powerless when I had not been able to manifest certain desires. So you might ask what I did and how I detached myself from desires and outcomes.
My detachment from desires and outcomes started when I finally bought into the idea that I possess all things in and beyond time and space. If I already possessed a thing, how and why might I desire it? To desire something means I do not have it. If I want something, this means I do not have it.
For a while the idea of being in possession of everything seemed totally absurd. But that was before I distinguished my inner life experiences from things I experience with reason and my senses. Before I became aware of the power of consciousness and before I saw all persons, places, things and events as concepts. Viewing everyone and every thing as a concept, I saw the meaning these represented for me. Each state of consciousness had and maintained its own unique concepts, its contents. And I had the power to arrange and rearrange the contents of consciousness. But before I arranged the contents of any state of consciousness, I am always free to decide which emotions I wanted to express.
Perhaps you wanted to know why I would want to decide about the emotions I express and how this ties in with situations as my vehicles. First, I prefer to choose the emotions I express because I can. I am free to make that decision. You are free to decide if you want to feel great or lousy. You are free to make that choice. When I found I could make such a choice, I started exploring and testing processes for carrying out that decision and found I could use any situation as a vehicle for giving expression to a given feeling. Second, I became quite adamant in being the one to choose the emotion I expressed after finding out how I influenced the cells of my body. I found I caused the release of chemicals that transmitted messages to my genes. My genes instruct proteins to build, repair and restore cells when I give expression to elevated emotions and to fight-or take flight when I give expression to negative or stress emotions, resulting in cellular breakdown. Knowing this I decided to use elevated emotions to create the atmosphere for my experiences with any situations – making any situation my vehicle for expressing elevated emotions.
