Neutered, Declawed and a Cauliflower Ear? 3/23/2007 5:21:00 AM
This morning was like a major event in our household. We had to keep track of three pets and make sure they didn’t eat or drink anything. They’re all going to have surgery today.
Baby Baron Frankenstein, our black Pomeranian will be neutered. If it was up to me, I’d cork than bottom of his as well. Housebreaking him is not easy. Everything outside scares him to the point he looses concentration in doing his business.
Pumpkin, our calico Persian cat is getting declawed. She’s our version of Jekyll & Hyde. She loves to be patted and in return purrs and drools excessively. But pick her up and she becomes crazy cat. I mean this cat acts like a wild beast that’s never seen humans before. She thrashes and slices open our flesh with those claws to the point my arms look like road-kill. I have all my cats declawed in the front, leaving them with their back claws for scratching themselves. Pumpkin will not have that luxury. She’s unmanageable with her sharp weapons.
Cheetah, our tortoise shell domestic cat has a swollen ear. Who knows how she injured it. Vet says just scratching can do it. But her ear is round and puffed up like a balloon. The vet is going to drain it, stitch layers closed and give her a wrinkly ear...better referred to as a cauliflower ear.
I love my animals, but boy are they going to dent my pocketbook today.
