Have you ever been confused and disoriented? If you have, did you feel like your life took a left hand turn? Lately that's been my plight. I just returned from a trip to the midwest and am beginning to get my bearings back in my "normal world". Having been gone only 7 days one would think that everything would seem the same upon my return, however, this time I seem to be off center and wondering whatever happened to the path I was on.
I face a blank slate that seems dense and I cannot see beyond my present moment in time. I'm stuck somewhere between then and now and can't seem to move in any direction. Why? Now that is a question I ask myself but in return there is no answer from the universe. So, I plan to just sit and relax and let my path take it's left hand turn and see what presents itself. I'm fortunate to be retired so I have the ability to sit and wait. Waiting is always the hard part about life. In a throw away society we seem to expect everything to happen right now not tomorrow. We get anxious when there is no immediate gratification to whatever we are doing. We become slaves to time and forget to enjoy each moment no matter how long that moment is.
Writing this blog is my first step in this moment given to me to use as I see fit. I choose to write this in order to clear my mind and allow it to begin a process of renewal. I'm back in my world but I've changed in many ways. It was good for me to leave my familiar surroundings for a while so I could return to see where I need to make changes or mid course corrections. I value that part of coming home because I can see with more clarity how my path has altered with time and how I can once again regain the momentum to forge ahead.
How do you handle those times of disorientation in your life? Does such times give you more inpetus to make changes or do you succumb to the pain of not knowing where you are? Let me know how you handle such times. It would be a great contribution to my world and others.
