I've decided that the only way to really be successful in this is to set a goal that will force me into a completely different mindset. To that end, my goal is to sell one million books over the Internet. I've felt all along that the Net is a paradigm-changing medium that will create a new relationship between buyer and seller. In the old way, you had to go through the handful of mainstream publishers, who acted as gatekeepers for what should be put out there for people to read. There are so many stories of best-sellers that were rejected multiple times before being published that it should be a red flag to show that the publishing houses aren't always right. So...one million books completely over the Internet. A nice round number. When I hit one million, I'll shoot for two and we'll see what happens.
