Grandkids on the Beach 2/16/2006 7:09:35 PM
The Grandkids just left after a 10 day visit and I'm finally getting back to normal. We all had a great time at Epcot, the Brevard Zoo and the beach. My daughter Nicole does a fantastic job organizing three kids aged six, four and eighteen months and I didn't even need to take another high blood pressure pill :-) My son-in-law Dave and I chilled with a few beers in the afternoon sun most days even though the temperature here in Florida was below normal for much of their visit. Now that they've headed back to Canada it's starting to warm up again, but what can you do? At least no one was shovelling snow.
One day when we were all at the Cocoa Beach Pier, an older couple walked by and said they never had so much entertainment while eating lunch on the Pier. They were watching the kids run back and forth to the water with boundless energy while Daddy made sure everyone was safe. The kids didn't care about sand blowing in their fries or the 65* temperature. Nothing got in the way of playing in the waves.
On another note, Ron and I have disbanded our duo "Two Pirates" because he needs a reality check and I'll be playing solo for a while. I'm hoping to record a new CD before I have to leave Florida on May 1st.
