After reading Robert's poem "Hammock Sounds", I started to drift. I then read Sue Hess's "A Cry For Help" asking about a blog.
I've seen them, I've read some, but I was never quite sure what to do about it.
So I decided to give it a try.
Thanks, Robert, for the visions, and Sue, for asking! Hmm...my thoughts huh? The consciousness thing perhaps.
I came home from work yesterday and my husband was outside grinning. He says, you wanna go to Mexico?
No details, now I’m grinning. He explains that my niece called and had a deal, and he flight was $200.00/ticket non-stop round trip. OMG! I grabbed his shirt, and started pushing him like a yo-yo. He said “We leave on Sunday, come back on thurs.
Now this only gives us one day to get it together before our trip to Aruba on Saturday.
I don’t care, I pack quick and light, cause we spend every waking moment on the beach, so all I really need is to take are my toiletries and 2 bathing suits.
All inclusive, drinks, gratuities, ground transportation, tax, you name it, and that would only be a little over $500.00
I really don’t like all inclusive packages, it’s just not for us. I don’t like to feel like I hafta run back to the hotel, shower and go to dinners at the hotel restaurants that serve American food flavored with Mexico.
We’re morning people and get up and leave early to go to town then back to the beach.
Most of the time we don’t eat breakfast, so while we’re in town, we eat a big lunch. So dinner is a maybe, or an I’m not hungry are you? If we do eat breakfast, then we aren’t hungry for lunch, and then we eat dinner. BUT, I like to go to out of the way places to experience authentic Mexican cooking, cause I can eat Taco Bell here at home. And believe me, the tiny little restaurants with tables outside are so atmospheric, (not sure if that’s a word) lovely and the people are just sooooo friendly.
So, three pairs of shorts, and about 5 interchangeable tops, sandals, (I hate wearing sneakers…another blog) beach shoes, and that’s it for me. Oh yes, I guess I should take along a nice outfit just in case.
Gee, that was long, I was only gonna write a couple of lines…
PS I wonder if grammer, spelling and actual words in the dictionary count. I’d like to think not since, this is a “my thoughts” kinda thing
