Yes, inflammatory commentators are to blame for what
happened in Tucson.

Conservative commentators and bloggers are bobbing and weaving trying to somehow blame the shooting on liberal columnists who dare to imply that they were somehow responsible, despite all the “locked and loaded” comments and the maps that show the congresswoman in Sarah Palin’s gun sites. Once again the national media backs down lumping Keith Olbermann with Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh as using “virulent” language. Olbermann apologized if any comment he made had anything to do with what happened. You won’t hear an apology from the three stooges. Why not? Because that’s what they do. If they weren’t “passionate,” nobody would pay any attention to them. How about this? Glenn Beck threatened to kill Michael Moore. He then went on to describe what he’d like to do to him if he could get his hands on him. Of course he wasn’t serious but how is this any different that the “nappy headed” comment Don Imus made that got him fired? Beck repeated the first internet assertion he heard, that Jared Loughner visited Communist and Nazi web sites. This is the same man who was all too ready to call Shirley Sherrod a racist on the evidence of a conservative activist with less credibility than he has.
There’s plenty of reason to blame conservative firebrands for what happened. For one thing Jared Loughner attacked a democratic congressman, not Jan Brewer, not John McCain, not the Limbaugh clone who ran against McCain. The congresswoman had the audacity to vote for Obamacare and that made her a pariah. Secondly, Loughner got that gun way too easily and he also got clips capable of firing 31 bullets in a few seconds. He had three of them. Conservatives are in bed with the gun lobby.
In 2004 Bush let the ban on automatic weapons and the same clips Loughner used lapse. The state of Arizona has also ruled that conceal and carry is lawful, making it harder to spot these crazies before they attack.
It’s time for Americans to look in the mirror and ask themselves, “Am I in any way responsible for what happened in Tucson?” Do I listen to commentators whose goal is to inflame the uneducated and the biased? Limbaugh isn’t passionate; he’s a loud mouth in the same order as the guy in the local bar or coffee shop who won’t shut up about the Kennedy assassination conspiracy. When he lost his hearing he went on the air without being able to hear what he was saying (See Limbaugh appearance on William Shatner’s “Raw Nerve”) Why would anybody pay this guy 400 million over the years when he’d probably pay them to spout his nonsense? I had the misfortune of watching a golf tournament the other day that kept promoting Limbaugh’s appearance on some morning show. They showed a clip of him claiming he was too smart for the game of golf. The man has a size twelve head, but it‘s not from a big brain.
Actually I’d kind of like to see Glenn Beck try to choke Michael Moore. My money’s on Moore. Pillsbury Doughboys don’t beat anybody up except little girls and the little girl would have a chance of winning.
Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity and their ilk are uneducated boobs with zero credibility. Beck had a chance to attend Yale, took one class in religion of course and dropped out half way through the course. Limbaugh flunked out of college. His mother says he wanted to be a disk jockey. Only good disk jockeys made a living at that job at the time. Beck is a “former” drug addict and alcoholic with mental illness in the family. Two family members have committed suicide. His hero is a Mormon John Birch Society member. Take a look at the John Birch Society on the Internet and tell me they don’t scare the living daylights out of you. Hannity is another college dropout and ex-bartender. He might be the most qualified. Keith Olbermann actually graduated from Cornell with a degree in communication arts (journalism). Modern sports journalism would not be the same without Keith Olbermann. Olbermann’s commentary during the health care debate was one of the best I heard; yet Beck got more national press.
Sarah Palin has now had a moment to digest what happened in Tucson and is now blaming the liberal press for its inflammatory reaction. Let me take that back. Palin isn’t capable of digesting anything. Her handlers (most likely the lady who wrote her first book and negotiated her TV series) told her what to say. That’s another reason you should doubt anything conservative columnists say. They don’t write their own books. Beck actually took credit for a couple of mysteries he didn’t write and I doubt he wrote the political stuff either. Obama wrote his own books. Clinton even wrote his own speeches. Sarah Palin attended four different colleges before she finally graduated with a degree in communications/journalism with a minor in political science, but her goal was to be a sports anchor. When asked what attracted her to her husband, she said he was the best basketball player in that part of Alaska. Can you say shallow? Besides, you’d think she would have been able to name at least one newspaper. I realize she was on national television and may have been a little shell shocked but anybody should be able to think of a local paper, unless she doesn‘t read anything but the Bible.
