The Trump Charade

Why in the world would anybody vote for a neurotic who acts so unpresidential?
I actually watched Trump's reality show once or twice. I can't imagine why. I don't watch any reality shows if I can help it. I think the biggest offense was his closing line, "You're fired", which he obviously relished so much. I think it would hurt me more to fire someone who worked for me than it would if I personally were fired. That is unless it was for something like stealing or blatant incompetence or maybe lying on his/her resume'.
So is it something as simple as the fact that his show was fairly popular? I don't remember seeing it on the top twenty list, but I've seen other shows on the list that were equally repulsive, so I wouldn't doubt it.
Is it because he's a billionaire? An economist has said that if he'd simply invested his father's money, he'd be ten billion dollars richer today. I believe it. He said when he announced his candidacy that he was worth approximately nine billion dollars. According to those who know, it's more like 2.4 billion, and he makes money selling the rights to his name, which really isn't a business.
What's with the Megyn Kelly thing? I'd rather watch Trump's show than Faux News but I have to admit that Megyn Kelly is an exceptionally attractive woman. So she asked him why he called women "fat pigs" and other repulsive names? She should. He said at the time he was talking about Rosie O'Donnell, who in her way, can be just as repulsive as Trump, but since then he's lauded the possibility of having a super model as first lady, as if that were supposed to be some kind of feather in our caps. I think Europe would collectively laugh in our faces.
Then there's the small hands thing. I hear that originated in Spy Magazine as satire. The man who wrote it claims that he had Trump figured out in the eighties and now his fear has come to fruition. Anyway, I always heard it had to do with the size of a man's feet. So . . . let's check out his feet. Size six? I thought the picture of Megyn Kelly holding a tape measure before a debate was hilarious. Whatever. It's still childish to even respond to something like that, especially a presidential candidate. The Republican party criticized Obama for singing.
This morning I read a commentary by a famous liberal. He thinks both parties will pay for Trump's being taken seriously. He predicts that by 2019 there will be a new populist party, which will give the two present ones a run for their money. There's just too much discontent with the gap between the rich and the poor and corporate shenanigans like moving their company offices offshore to avoid taxes. And if Hillary gets elected and the voters pick a Republican majority in the House and Senate, we'll have an even bigger quagmire. Bill was able to deal with Newt Gingrich, but I believe he held a majority in the Senate. We always seem to punish progressives after two years of office, so maybe it's the progressive party we've been waiting for all along. Obama concentrated on Health Care instead of breaking up the big banks or arresting the crooks who caused the recession. Americans didn't want to be told they had to buy health insurance, even though they don't seem to have a problem with car insurance. And it was a Republican idea via the Heritage Foundation. They didn't want freeloaders going to the ER where they had to treat them.
Do you really want to have to look at that hairdo for four years, if he's not impeached beforehand? I've referred to him as the Scarecrow elsewhere, you know from the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy asked the Scarecrow, "What would you do with a brain if you had one?"
