Let's see, less than two weeks ago we had 600 dead troops, but now 84 dead with 560 wounded [so figure five or six will soon join them] and 2 'missing' [a.k.a. dead] for this month alone! Well, I am being given the old 'I told you so' treatment. On top of that, Bush - who can't recall making any mistakes and says doesn't care what at least half the voters think - now says we'll probably need MORE troops in Iraq [which, of course, means more dead American soldiers.] So - at this rate - it looks like we'll hit 1,000 DEAD TROOPS by the time we let some of his hand-picked Iraqi mafioso types run the country on June 30. Then my guess is we'll really see some blood being shed by the 'coalition' made up of something like 125,000 American troops - 2,000 British - 400 Pollocks - a few hundred hired guns - and a band of sightseers who think they're in Saudi Arabia.
That's okay. Look! The Prez says they found mustard gas on a farm in Turkey! [Quick! Call for reinforcements and check EVERY Iraqi farm posthaste!]
Hey, I have a right to be upset. First, this guy says the war is over WMDs. Then he says it's over. Then that it's now over Iraqi freedom - and anyone who speaks against this bogus war is a "Communist pinko pig!" [Oops, excuse me. That was Nam.] I mean is "unpatriotic" and - get this - a LIBERAL. [Doesn't the word just crawl off your tongue?] Hmm? Am I? I don't think so because, for example, I am basically anti-abortion but do think embryonic stem cell research is a MUST to save and improve the lives of folks like Christopher Reve, those stricken with diabetes, Parkinson's Disease, etc. I was also conservative enough to say we should not start this war until we had all the facts straight. [Not that this would've ever happened, mind you...]
Anyway - thanks, J. R. I mean, George Dubya. Had I known you didn't have any idea of what you were doing or talking about, I'd have made the bet that TWO thousand American troops wouldn't be dead by 1/1/05, instead.
With that in mind - on a most serious side - my deepest sympathies to the families of Michelle Witmer of New Berlin, WI, and Tyanna Felder, of Bridgeport, Conn. These two, fine, young beauties died in Bush's private war this month. I also mention this because I know their names will long be forgotten before that of Jessica Lynch. Such an unGodly waste. Remember: Thou shalt not kill, George! [Oh, he must be one of those 'new' Christian types. I know he has a spin for that, too, but I also know he can't spin Jesus Christ.]
