I don't seem to be able to escape the toddler raccoons wherever I go
Last visit of the summer with Son & family, KC, for several days. School meetings begin tomorrow, then kids come Monday
Daughter in Law's birthday is in a few days, I found blue willow at jumble shop, 2 cups 2 saucers and brought them with me to kc ... we like jumble shopping, and she has a piece of blue willow her grandmother had
We had some rain there and in OK while we were in Kansas, nice. Strange summer this year for certain, cool, temperate, not the usual baking and dry
News reports are showing California showing famers dozing down orchards, no water and trees dying, sad, I remember the orchards everywhere when I was living there
I had 2 Naked Lady bulbs the toddler raccoon brat pack missed in the front flower bed, dug out the bulbs, moved over by the house and they are both in full bloom when we got back, nice welcoming committee!
Also planted a short canna and a medium canna this summer and they are doing well. Hope to get more next spring, they should do well in spite of ruffian toddler raccoons
Will admit, I was a tad surprised Sunday am in K C, I was working on computer early and suddenly heard the unmistakable wail of an infant raccoon, looked out and sure enough, there was a little raccoon kid. I'm not sure how he got separated from mom, but he was running up and down, wailing and wailing, finally took off up the street, did not see a lump of fur later when we went out, and didn't hear coyotes, maybe he found his mom
Lot of building going on in KC, every where there seems to be new construction both homes & apartments as well as commercial. growing area
