Saturdays are a little different...I mostly read for fun!
Good Morning!
Wow! I am reading a book so far out that I'm amazed that I'm able to follow the story. The title is Looking Glass by James R. Strickland. It is a futuristic novel in a time that computers are used via a "jack" implanted directly into your head! If you are a working professional, you work in the nude immersed in water! I won't even tell you what hackers can do... I'm about a third of the way through so I hope it doesn't get any "worse" although if it does the book will be even better than I think...See, it's hard to understand...
By the way, I just finished Dear John. Although I was doing a review, I wound up reading it in my "fun time." Check out my latest article to find out about Quincy...my new hero!
I'm involved in a reading challenge--50 books in a year... on several different sites...Now really, I almost feel embarrassed to participate since reading 50 books is no big deal for a book reviewer (lol). I wind up stacking my books until I take the time to record them...mostly when the stacks start falling over! So Nora Roberts, Sue Grafton, James Patterson and many others are waiting to be identified and numbered as I move toward 50! Say, how many books do you read in a year? Are you a reader here on AD... Had to turn down a book this past week. It had too many errors--way beyond the limitation of 30 that we use (at my site) Hated to do it, but I've spent some time with the author and hopefully will be reading hiw novellater, after he has worked on his book more.
Yeah...we may be a little different as book reviewers. We take a look at the total package, including proofreading and grammar. We don't like to read books with errors and don't think individuals who buy YOUR book(s) should have to read them either.
Anyway, it isn't easy or fun to point out problems to, especially, a new author...but, if somebody doesn't, isn't the frustration of having your book not being accepted, with no feedback, worth hearing it from me? Thoughts?
