New Novel - POVERTY'S PRIDE 12/11/2012 7:12:38 AM
My unfinished novel from 2008. Posted on Wattpad.com. Have I got my mojo back? I have not written in my blog since 2008. That is a long time but there is a reason. Ill-health struck. Now things are looking better or rather I feel better.
In 2008 I began my 13th historical romance novel, but the above circumstances prevented me from completing it. I thought I would never write again. I had lost my mojo; my creativity.
However, in September 2012 I came across site called Wattpad.com. I was intriqued. People were writing stories, novels, poetry, articles.
I thought about my unfinished novel, hidden away inside my computer, never to see the light of day; never to be read by anyone.
Why not, I thought, post the chapters I had already written in 2008 and make a real effort to finish the book. It seemed an unlikely dream. I had reached chapter 16 in 2008. Could I go further?
I began to post chapter after chapter, and then I found I was gathering reads and votes. This encouaged me to try harder. Somehow I found the strength. I posted the last already-written chapter and there was nothing for it but to write a new one, and another and another.
Today, I am on chaper 23 with just two or three scenes to go. And my reads have jumped to over 9000. And the book is, at the time of writing, #67 in hisorical fiction. This, to me, is wonderful. I think I've got my mojo back, at least temporarily.
