News, notes and miscellany!
Hi, Everyone.
It's been a while; as usual, I mean to come and visit more often, but we all know that life demands flexibility and, often, our presence somewhere else than wherever we meant to be.
First of all--in case I don't get back as quickly as I mean--a very Merry Christmas to all who celebrate Christmas and Happy Holidays to those who celebrate in a different way. The most important thing about the season, in my heart, is being with family, at least spiritually.
Then, I want to thank so many who have read, and often commented on, my work--poetry, articles, whatever. Glad you have honored me in that way.
I always dreamed of writing professionally, and am happy to say that in the last 9 months, Crimson Romance published three of my romances and is considering a fourth. Crimson Romance, although roundly criticized by some, is a 'real' publisher, an imprint of the huge F&W/Adams Media conglomerate--think of the WritersMarket books and WritersDigest magazine among others. So, in a way--I've succeeded.
I hope that each of you who wants desperately to have your books published achieve that dream.
I also want you to know that when that happens--it will be the beginning, not the end. Increasingly, we writers must promote our own books. I would be honored if you would check out Wildflower Redemption, Unattainable, Take Me Out, and my self-published anthology, La Llorona (The Wailing Woman) on my website, Return to Rio.
If you're here only to read--that's wonderful, and I especially hope I can lure you to glance at my offerings.
But regardless--words are power and pleasure, and while writing breaks many of our hearts--it also sustains and gives hope.
