Kindle Vella's Dirty Secret: Addendum 9/2/2022 11:44:02 AM
An update to my previous blog. After doing some more exploration of Kindle Vella's search engine, I discovered something.
While in the Science Fiction category, KV lists a number of popular tags within that category. After looking at a few that would pertain to my story, I noticed two of them only have forty pages of results.
If you read my last blog about this, you'll know why that is significant.
I made sure that those two tags were on my book, and when I looked them up again, I found my story on both of them the next day.
Today, however, I'm even more excited. While I'm still concerned about their search engine problem, which is why I went through the Science Fiction results page per page again today, I noticed that my story shows up on page 28 now. That is just awesome!
I'm also still waiting to hear back from anyone having the same problem. Are you able to search a category/tag on Kindle Vella and get passed page 40 of the results? I have a lot of experience using search engines, and have never come across one that acts like this one.
Lastly, on a related note, episode four of my scifi-fantasy story is live on Kindle Vella. I won't be posting them individually on here as books, though, once I have enough to compile into a book, then I will post that here.
