I'd like to start off by wishing you all happy holidays. This year, I'm lighting a second candle in the window to honor those in Ukraine that are celebrating their holidays by candlelight.
I'm reminded of the time my family and I spent Thanksgiving in Assisi, Italy. We had our dinner at a church dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. It was a very old church, and so everything was lit by lanterns and candles. I was pretty young, so I probably didn't appreciate it as much as I would now, but it was very memorable.
I also want to thank you all for nearly 3,000 pageviews and the nice reviews. For me, it's a nice Christmas present. With all that's happened lately, we will be having a very modest celebration. I'm going to write something nice for my wife, maybe it will be a song.
Lastly, I recently joined Mastodon, which is a social medium very similar to Twitter, but it's decentralized and has several instances, with many of them specific to a theme. I'm still learning about it, but it apparently does not utilize algorithms. It seems very promising, and there is currently a large migration going on from tweeps that aren't happy with what Elon Musk is doing. That wasn't why I joined, but I am considering leaving Twitter.
