Two men were walking side by side,
Down a path one sunny day.
They talked of all the faith they had,
As they went along their way.
Then all at once to their surprise,
They came upon a bridge.
A bridge of rotten boards and rope,
That spanned from ridge to ridge.
“I believe this bridge will hold us,
We have not a thing to fear”.
“I’m sure that if it was not safe,
They would not have it here”.
“I’m not afraid to cross it”,
”Its just too far to go around”
The two men talked the big talk,
But still they held their ground.
The men talked back and forth all day,
About how much they believed.
That the hand of God would keep them safe,
And they would not be deceived.
But though they “believed” that it would hold,
And see them to the other ridge.
The two men would not practice “faith”,
Until they stepped onto the bridge.
