Memories in Motion
What will be remembered of me after I am gone?
Will I merely be a piece of stone that a names been chiseled on?
Will I just be a thought that once was written in a rhyme?
Or will I be a memory that has been passed down through time?
Memories in motion, is what I truly think we are.
We leave a trail of memories on this path we travel far.
We are the sum of what we leave behind, back to when we began.
There are no memories of the future, for there we’ve not yet been.
I think that those that follow pick up our memories as they go.
Just as we hold on to memories that we picked up long ago.
We are really not the flesh and bone, that everybody sees.
In the end, what we are you see is simply memories.
So I like to take my feelings and my past and write them down.
For somewhere in the future then my memories will be found.
And as they read my memories they will shine just like the stars.
For what we did and what we said, is truly who we are.

Wonderful write here thank you for sharing it.I too Want to make my mark and be remembered but we never inow that the next person we meet may be the one to write our eulogy or we might be the one who has to say a few w0rds for them so all of us make our memories hopefully each moment becomes more special for you each day!

Hi Jack: This is really good. My kids like to read my old newspaper columns written when they were little because of the memories it brings up. The written word is a record of history, even if it's in the form of a poem or a short story. So keep right on writin'! (when you have time, that is.) I've been really busy lately too trying to get a job and buy Christmas and graduation gifts and getting them ready to mail--I haven't been on the computer as much.
