Transcendental Sonnet #1202:
Epiphany Prophecy of the Spring
In this sunburst between two winter storms
Epiphany prophecy of the spring
I lift my face to the light as it warms
My bones however briefly this brief day
My own voice joining the birds as they sing
The sun had never really gone away
It just had been cloud-shrouded for so long
That I of little faith had felt despair
That it would return that it was still there
But now it shines so beautiful so strong
I love it more now for not having seen
That face of light than had it always been
There as a constant and forgotten thing
And now I know the spring will come someday
