How true. I recall the sinking feeling in high school when a friend mentioned he'd heard the end of the world prophecy was 1984, or there about. I laugh at it now. Always something...no use fretting over everything.

Amazing to me how the turn of every century brings hysteria and cries of apocalypse. Just look back in history. Are we so fearful of change? Change is good, clears out the deadwood and there's plenty of that in the world. We are burdened under systems that no longer serve us. Hurricanes, volcanos, earthquakes must be punishment from God, right? This is the earth purging and renewing herself as she has since the beginning of time. Add to that the consequences of our neglect, abuse and just plain lack of common sense when building cities and freeways which is a matter of cause and effect. God is loving and has left us with free will. It's our responsibility what we do with it. But we pass the blame, paralyze ourselves with fear and stifle efforts for change. Sorry to ramble, dear Stephen. I truly appreciate this write!

So true - However, fear is negative; love is positive - if we truly love we are without fear and love brings peace. So my formula
love and fear must kiss = peace What the world needs is more love and understanding plus knowledge of truth. There are too many lies and false truths and we are not following the path of Jesus Christ who is the truth, the way and the life.

I believe fear of ANY numeric date is a sign of the mass hysteria promoted in an unstable world. Fear cripples the mind and brings irrational behaviors boiling to the top of humanity. In essence it brings our inner fears to the surface and in doing so makes a broad statement to the inner strife we feel from the environment we are now living in. Ah, if only people could and would believe in peace and love the way they do fear... our world would change, I believe that. Call me crazy, but I do believe that.
