"And the face in the mirror knows / What goes will come as what comes goes"

Poem Artwork

Reflection

Pinpoint puncture in time and space
Manifold manifestation
Of compound reality in
Joyful juncture of life and grace
A multifoliate mirror

A possible explanation
For what is about to begin
Where in the window comes a face
And the image becomes clearer
If only to shatter again

And so it goes at this window
So polished that even I shine
Seeing both sides above below
With all the layers peeled away
Duty delight despair disdain

A thousand thousand times a day
And the face in the mirror knows
What goes will come as what comes goes
The face in the mirror is mine
But the reflection is divine

Beautifully written...I think we all need to take a closer look at our innerself, more so than our outerward reflection, after all it is the inward man that truly counts. Great write...

Wonderful point. Great selection of words. It's almost like song lyrics. I might add the reflection is only an instant or moment. Tomorrow it will be an older you in that mirror just as it is an older you today than yesterday.
Hence, what you write is only too true.
God Bless,
Lew

Intriquing look at your own inner self using the glass as an analogy. Do we really see ourselfs in a mirrored image of the real self or is it just what we would like to perceive our spirits to be.
