The parts of me in balance form the whole Of me and I need all my parts to be Complete even if completely alone
I wanted to share but she wanted more I hope she found what she was looking for But what she really wanted was my soul And without my soul there can be no me
I can see now how she felt incomplete Hungry for someone else's soul to eat How sad that she could never find her own!
Hollow and empty starving at the feast Her means could never justify her ends
I wish she could have shared awhile with me I wish she could have tasted love at least And her soul and my soul might have been friends

I saved this one. It took me a few decades to understand that of which you speak and once realized, what a sense of freedom and generosity fills one's heart...you are open and willing to drink in life and love with no expectations... This is an incredible work.

Beautiful write.Sounds as though she will always be

Your first verse,

You are better off alone...until "Love is Free"
For some reason, I think of my parents 50th wedding Anniversary, when they were being interviewed at the festivities, they asked my father, " So, what's your seceret...Did you ever think of divorce?
My father replied..."Divorce..."Never!" Now Murder..."
and we all laughed!
Love is Free, Free to be you, free to be me...

Oooh this is so good and so true, love should not come with a cost, especially hurt and pain. I have known someone who wanted to possess and control the relationship...love cannot work this way, it is give and take. Great write!

OH! I like this. So true. Some people will not share; they want complete possessiveness. She was willing to give her all but to possess as well. She apparently could not love herself and was trying to fullfill that empty space with you.To love is not to possess but to let the other be free. To let go is also to love when necessary. Marguerite
I like the simplicitic thinking of this write steve, it is not always easy to look at lost love and see the unfairness or perhaps fairness of it being over.
