What turns out to have been our destiny?
Who knows what relationships mean except
Human propinquity shared and enjoyed?
Secrets to treasure through promises kept
By moments which can never be destroyed
Becoming the meaning of memory

The sharing of the wearing of the flesh
The bearing of the caring of the soul
Where love speaks freely because lives are fresh
Each life lived as part of a greater whole
This is what relationships mean to me

So here we two are now and having one
Adventure in human propinquity
After another as day follows night
Follows day and we continue to be
Two creating one shared reality

Out looking for trouble I found the light
In you and in me here under the sun
Taking time and making eternity
Taking wrong and making it turn out right
Taking and making until we have done
What turns out to have been our destiny
