Though my life would make a wanderer of me
I would still like to find a star I could hold
And should I hold nothing then nothing is free
Thus I could afford to have my future told
By light from the past though shining presently
If I ever hold one I know you will know
That I never want to disappoint myself
Quoting Melville by anachronistic glow
Thus "Great God I ask Thee for no meaner pelf"
You will know I am still asking even so
You will know I have to ask still have to try
Even though I find stars should stay in the sky
