Here We Are Again for my fellow survivors We suffer in this life but not in vain The most important things we learn We learn by accident Each of us could have gotten killed Yet here we are somehow "Better to marry than to burn" And other odd advice Whether misunderstood or meant Was our hard way to learn Requiring virgin sacrifice There is where our youth went It took the skills of our most skilled Attorneys and physicians Scratching their heads at our limitations Matching them though through their ministrations To barely squeak us out of some Tight spots and awkward situations Like being strapped to gurneys now And then along the way In ambulances to the promised land Learning hard lessons of the day Through occasional crackups in both kinds Crackups of bodies and crackups of minds We have been overcome but we have overcome And having overcome what overcame us We came through what we thought was hell And we came through it pretty well We might be stubborn but we understand And nobody else survived to blame us So... here we are again Whether meant or misunderstood Feeling good about being now Being well and doing well by doing good Seeing the universe by giving a hand Freeing the multiverse by taking a stand Falling or diving in any case arriving Being and seeing and freeing ourselves to Keep having accidents and learning as we do The most important things we ever knew A little wiser... here we are again +Steven Curtis Lance Copyright MMX
