A Postcard from the Santa Clarita Valley

The quail buzz as they burst into flight like horses harrumphing sound
When the snakes are asleep till spring curled in their beds beneath the ground
Of the Santa Clarita Valley where I came to from yesterday
Because I had no place to be before but here I am today
For whatever reason in bright blue season and tomorrow then
To be and to see when snakes wake up and buzzing quail fly free
Fauna and flora Robert and Aurora and there will be me
In the Santa Clarita Valley tomorrow where I will make my way
When snakes are waking quail are taking wing I will sing of everything
And find this a good place for my mind a place to remember to sing
With everything and everyone behind and yet remembering
Who do not forget me and may God not let me forget me too
In the Santa Clarita Valley where I wrote this postcard for you
Remembering Decembering and hoping you will come and see
