for the Laughing Daffodil

I have the beard of God now
Reflected though if true
By few known from afar
The beautiful uncut hair of graves
As one said once who looked like me
Respected one who knew
Or could have been me somehow

Better late than never to know
Bound whatever round I go
What should destroy me is what saves
Me ultimately to be
How I must be now and then
To be just how I would again
When time is not my enemy

Nothing grows unless it goes
Revolving I resolve
Turning learning to evolve
Unfettered for better or worse
For the wear of care but for the best
Of all having passed the test
Of love one with the universe

And you who understand how
Reflected as we go
I have the beard of God now
Respected one you know
Afar is not too far
Unbearded though you are I see
You look like God to me

Good reflective poetry. As for a beard, who really knows?
