So many pocket gophers lying dead on the floor! One two three this morning for the cats are bringing more With four cats no waiting and pocket gopher hating At an all time high one hears the meowings of a war That something in the spring that involves some suffering Though not for a cat (a cat makes very sure of that) Out of their pockets tiny eyes out of their sockets With fear but here they come to rot so in the grotto When their minds are made up now and cats are getting fat What they want is not a lizard nor is it a rat Looks like now is when somehow the pocket gophers go Even though out of pocket no small change even so One two three this morning for the cats are bringing more So many pocket gophers lying dead on the floor! +Steven Curtis Lance Copyright MMXIII
