A slip of a boy I hope you enjoy
Who would be big but would not be a pig
At least I never got fat there was that
And so I am not Uncle Jack at last
Having wasted almost away I guess
But doing it my way no matter what
Leaving my baggage back there in the past
Wasting nor wanting not what I forgot
And this is what there is not more but less
My belly like an empty basket now
A begging bowl although my soul is full
But life goes on and so do I somehow
And all of it at last is beautiful
Thinking of what is and not what is not
I want to be and so I think I will
Go on as I have gone am going still
Although the going is improbably
Going my way for now more than likely
I have to go no matter what I do
But when having gone then I will go on
And so I might as well write this for you
Tell you the truth as I see it be it
As best I can embody and free it
Live all I can when I can such as I
Am then by seeing it through till I die
Then to go on when the going is gone
My hair got all white but that was all right
Because I wondered how I could be me
At all anyway yet here I am now
To wonder and get it all right somehow
When afternoon is evening then midnight
Laughing last though in extremity
Poor but proud as loud as I can be
