I. Here I Am
I hear horses neighing
Hear what they are saying
As hello how are you
To animals like me
And so I answer too
Out here in the country
When in Rome what to do
If you wonder weighing
How to know if staying
Do you hear them neighing?
And yes here in my heart
I hear them too I guess
I hear them call as though
They call to me and so
Here I am more or less
At home when in Rome
Then let the country start
II. White Dog Poop
Why oh my is this dog poop white
Somehow? This mystery I see
Before me turned by moonlight or
What need dog poop be white now for?
But this dog poop is white all right
It is as though full moons had bleached
Fantastic feces shipwrecked beached
On sandy strands of fantasy
Shat out by dogs of destiny
In snowy bonfires one two three
White dog poop answers vanity
With questions of my sanity
Though might as well so what the hell
Why not go any color when
Surprising dog stars rise again?
What happens happens out of sight
But under dog star light tonight
With canine curiosity
I wonder if I might see what
White dog poop looks like from the butt?
It is a mystery to me
But this dog poop is white all right
III. Rooster
A rooster is never at rest
Ever boosting himself as best
Would he could crow on Everest
To cock a doodle do
Would crow anywhere he could go
To sow his best for show nor rest
Go do his doodle do beau geste
For him nor me or you
Do his duty to walk the talk
A gawking squawking so-and-so
Who knows he is cock of the walk
So many of him too
And so he is will be and was
He whose shtick is to be a dick
A doodle do who doodle does
Ever boosting himself as best
A rooster is never at rest
