I once lived in Long Beach California
It was nice
Where nearby in Huntington my Mom was born there
Once or twice
Where I once had family
A wedding and a bride
So ask a time or two though you would never have to
Ask me thrice
Could I go back to Long Beach California
Out here in the desert now on ice
One remembers and I do
How much it meant
Where my kids do one two three
There where two of three once came to be
Went or were sent
To ever remember never forget
To get back to Long Beach California
That was where
My father was a juvenile delinquent
Where I went
To the university
Eastside he was Westside
Where visits from his absent father were infrequent
But well spent
Like mine back to Long Beach California
And I remember everything especially
The sounding sea sounding like life now to me
