I

Being almost homeless
Is better than all the way I guess
Today than yesterday
In an unusual place to stay
But someplace anyway
Someplace to be unusually

Though I am unusual too so
I know still I will grow
Unless I think of home and despair
But home is anywhere
So I will grow now and still go on
Somehow till I am gone

Someplace to spend the night
Being almost homeless but not quite

II

Good to be with good to see
These dusty dogs again

Though not so dusty now as when
Out there in the desert then
These grimy dogs of the city
Bud said but Marisol is pretty
As Bowser is handsome both of
Whom have always lived their lives for love
Wherever they are near or far
And now we remember how we are
Together as we have been

Good to be with good to see
These dusty dogs again

III

Sometimes without warning
Depression in the morning
Comes like a cloud to be
Like a shadow over me
And will not go away
Until it has had its say
No matter what I do

Depression can find a way
To dream reality
A nightmare in the day when
What is becomes what was
Doing what depression does
When now is then again
In its sway it has its way

Until it has run through
When the morning comes up blue

Reviews of "When the Morning Comes Up Blue"
Reviewed on May 20, 2014
Some people don't even have time to be depressed. I have one friend in facebook who is a single mother, homeless, with two young boys. Many days she and her boys slept in her car; and many of the social agencies would not give her the help because she has a car and a cell-phone - both of which she needs in order to find a job, and the car is the last resort to have a roof over her head. She has not even the time to be depressed. I'm just glad that through her hard work and determined efforts she has now found herself a job, and a place to live for herself and her two young boys. It was NOT without any struggles. Her friends helped her out through the toughest times with help and prayers too; and then she signed up herself to some volunteer data entry jobs to gain experience, and before long she was hired as a full-time employees, with some overtime pay too. We are so proud of this lady, because through her own hard work and determination she was able to work up to have a job, and a place for herself and her boys to live. A real roof over their heads, and it's all due to her own efforts. We are all so proud of her!!! I think between being "Homeless" and have a "Roof over one's head" the choice is entirely up to the person himself/herself. What I have said is true fact, I can even give you a link to this woman's profile so you can find out how she had struggled and finally won everything for herself and her two young sons.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
