Regular Boy
I was a kid who did what they said
Most times but sometimes the unsaid instead
I had to have haircuts biweekly
They said though and sent so I went meekly
Because they let me get root beer too
After I had done what they told me to
They told me to get a Regular
Boy's Haircut but I was irregular
Not like the commercials on TV
That I used to see but by being me
Seeing me not be regularly
And not any good at trying to fit
Regular in 1962
Required me to be acquired then to do
Said how I should be how I could not
Said it would remember when I forgot
So long ago now it was never
Again but then when it seemed forever
Then is when I began to see it
However I was but how to be it
Was new to me though at least I knew
How I was so I began to know who
Not a regular boy in any
Way but my haircut any of many
Now that this is now and that was then
Though sent so I went I meant to be free
Ever since then now never again
Haircuts for boys nor regularity
No more any of many to be
The Regular Boy I have never been
Having enjoyed if irregularly
Being an irregularity
